Start-Stop Systems
Обзор систем старт-стоп европейских автомобилей.
Скоро этим дибилизмом будет комплектоваться каждая новая машина. Я не спорю, это экономит топливо в простое и экология лучше, но кто задумывается о последствиях работы этой системы на двигатель и карман владельца? С производителями (и правительствами) и так всё ясно...
Система эта - лишние стартовые нагрузки на двигатель, более дорогая (не стандартная) аккумуляторная батарея, немного электроники, усложнение стартера/генератора, ремня...
Машины всё сложнее, ломаются всё чаще. Качество производства, а особенно обслуживания падает. Но зато напихали новых технологий, спасибо.
Возможно мой сивик один из последних без старт-стопа.

Не обязазательно устанавливать на дэшборд, у меня валяется в бардачке и оттуда голосом сообщает, если что не так. Например, когда долго и медленно едешь в гору, сообщит о температуре ОЖ свыше 100 градусов.
Расширенная диагностика
До 200 параметров диагностики ЭБУ для множества оригинальных протоколов, включая паспорт, сервисные записи ЭБУ на уровне диагностического сканера. Чтение данных стоп-кадра (до 40 параметров) при возникновении ошибки в работе системы, состояния контрольных систем автомобиля из оригинального протокола без переключения в протокол OBD-2. Диагностика не только ошибок, но и параметров АБС, электропакета и других дополнительных систем.

Samsung Travel Adapter fakes
Wanted to buy original Samsung Travel Adapter with current rate 2A.
It turns out that is not so simple... because most of them are fakes on market even if sold as super original.

One I've ordered via Groupon.
Seller was some local site buy2: Genuine Samsung Charger, proposal was like on this page - http://www.buy2.co.il/o/7cf4afaf-1671-448c-a655-e8aefd5c9b68
I paid 59 NIS and wet to pickup it from Hertzliya.
When I came to the shop, I told that it looks like fake adapter: letters jumping. At home I've checked idle voltage, it was above 5.3V. So I've opened a case at PayPal (as I paid with them). Time passed, no answer from seller, PayPal returned me my money.
The second I bought from eBay, seller neq-trade from Germany. Listing not more exist after I opened a case for fraud item. ~57 NIS with postal delivery.

Powerocks Rose Stone 6000
Было: iWalk Extreme 2800, которая выдавала ровно одну зарядку и была подарен сестре.
Особенности:
- ёмкость 2,800 мАч.
- отличные кабели, реально отдающий максимальный ток
- фонарик (использовался 1 раз)
- чехольчик
- вес и размеры
Взял на днях Powerrocks Rose Stone 6000.
Особенности:
- ёмкость 6,000 мАч.
- чехол
- кабель; не модный, но выдаёт честный ток
- возможность заряда 2х устройств одновременно
- прикольная индикация и скрытая кнопка; важно что индикация отключается, а не работает всё время, сохраняя драгоценные миллиамперы :-)
- 1 год гарантии - очень важно, с ебаем заниматься этим не охота.
- цена 140 шек в Ivory
- практически не греется ни при заряде, ни при разряде; металич. корпус
Кубик выдал мне почти 3 полных зарядки от 15% до 100% моего Samsung Galaxy S3.
Ток зарядки совпадает с указанным в паспорте, заряд за 2 часа.
Последняя до 85%.

Fuel Trims best ever explanation
Secret of Engine Problem Diagnosis- Fuel Trims Pt.2
Notes for myself.
Inputs:
1. Air: MAP|MAF and Temperature
2. Fuel injectors pulse width.
Engine
Ouputs:
1. O2 sensor
14.7 (air) : 1 (fuel) - stoichiometry
rich at start and wide open throttle
02 sensor: 0.1-0.2V (lean) to 0.8-0.9V (rich)
not functional upto ~700 grad
STFT: immediate response
LTFT: baseline
Range -50% to +50%
Case 1. p0171 - bank1 lean
LTFT=25%, STFT=0% - vacuum leak
on idle, vac leak plays significant role. increase rpm, leak insignificant role, so LTFT should be low.
confirm by propane|carb cleaner in intake, so STFT will fall in response to rich.
Case 2. weak fuel pump, p0171 lean condition
FT can be 0% or bit above. Make load on engine as we need more fuel it will showup.
Increase RPM and see STFT, should increase too as more fuel demand and pump is weak.
Case 3. dirty MAF
Construction: heated wire to constant temperture controlled by PCM. PCM increase voltage to heat up more/less to get to set temp. When more airflow voltage vary. Also uses air temp for calculation.
LTFT around 0%.
Will behave same as in weak fuel pump. Need more inputs like fuel rail pressure or MAF readings as should be by specs.
FT +-5% regular, +-10% within spec. More than that - something wrong.
Exhaust leaks can affect O2 sensor.
Case 4. LTFT -30%. Rich condition. Maybe leaking injector.
After replacement LTFT should be updated initially with ST, later with LT.
If LTFT stays the same, problem not fixed, not injector.
Case 5. p017/4, idle, LTb1: 55%, LTb2: 2%, STb1: 55%, STb2: 0%.
Super lean at bank 1, not a fuel pump as bank 2 is ok. Vacuum hole in bank1? :-)

ISO Connector Pins Removal
Recently I was fixing issue with car multimedia system.
The problem was in poor contact in ISO connector. I was need to replace one of them.
But what if you need to reorder pins, remove ones that not in use?
I didn't find perfect guide for that, so I wrote by myself ;-)
All you need is office clip, better from thick (fat) wire.
On left normal clip, right is what you need to do from it.
There are two type of pins: with one (left) or two (right) teeth.
(Btw, left one is better it has split contacts - 4 independent instead of 2. So if you buy, choose same as left ones).
Now, how they sit and hold inside the plastic plug?
I did some awful schematics on top :-)
There is a small tooth or two that hold it in place.
Look close to your connector, try to identify them. You can also put clip inside and feel it.
Ok, how to remove?
Take the prepared clip, but before you insert it, push pin by wire as far as you can (from back to front, left to right) so the tooth will not touch plastic holder. Now, holding it in that position insert the clip easily until it stops.
No push it harder, you should feel by fingers feedback that you pushed the tooth inside.
Last step is while holding clip there pull out pin from the back and your are done!
If you have 2 teeth, follow the same procedure but insert both ends of the clip.
Repeat until you need.
When inserting them back, remember to pull-up lightly teeth (by knife or other tool) so it will hold pin again tightly.

Variable Pressures
After being subjected to so many environmental conditions, Corey finally gets his opportunity to strike back. Expect some high flying adventures into the world of variable pressures. Look forward to learning about g-forces, zero gravity, and the high pressures of deep water diving.

Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4 shorted MOSFETs
Получил "в подарок" маму с процессором, памятью и видеокартой.
Комп запускается и сразу выключается. Иногда поработает секунд 30 и вырубается. И так до бесконечности. Иногда может дёрнутся вентилятор ЦП.
Спасибо инжинерам Гигабайта за диагностические светодиоды возле каждой компоненты в отдельности! Проблема в районе процессора обрисовалась сразу.
Тестировал с разными видео, паматью, процессором и БП - тот же результат.
POST-карты у меня нет конечно же. Дежурка вроде в порядке: +5 В на у PW SW и 2.5 В на 14м пине PCI (верхний ряд).
Силовая электроника, представленная на плате
КЗ было найдено в 2-х транзиторах верхнего плеча питания ЦП - 4744N.
Ещё подозрителен один из драйверов этих силовых транзиторов - он выбивается по проверкам из других. Дроссели не оборваны.
Как появятся детали и фен, буду менять. Выкидывать не попробовав починить жалко :-) Интересный же опыт.

Smartphones charging
Немного о зарядке телефонов.
До недавнего времени, я думал, что достаточно просто подать 5В на два крайних провода +5 и -5. Например, чтобы сделать самодельную зарядку от авто или батареек.
С новыми телефонами это не пройдёт...
Они по двум центральным проводам D+ и D- определяют могут ли они заряжаться в нормальном режиме.
